Paramore Release Video For New Single 'Hate To See Your Heart Break' Featuring Joy Williams

For their new single, Paramore have re-recorded 'Hate To See Your Heart Break' as a collaboration with Joy Williams from The Civil Wars!

We've adored the track ever since we first heard it on Paramore's self-titled album last year but this new version has made us love it even more. Joy's incredible guest vocals add a whole new dimension to the beautiful melody.

In comparison to Paramore's previous singles, 'Hate To See Your Heart Break' is much more stripped back. Lead singer Hayley Williams really gets to show off her stunning voice and in all honesty, it's really quite emotional.

Funnily enough, Hayley and Joy actually both share the same second name and they've mentioned many times that they do feel as close as sisters. It's a friendship that has certainly created something very special.

Speaking about the duet to NPR, Hayley said: "I love that I got to sing this with someone who I have shared my pains and my stories with for quite some time. Someone whom I know well and who I've sat and listened to as they share their own pains. It was never meant as romantic song between lovers but always a song to a friend."

"Now it's even more special. I think of it as an ode to sisterhood. Close friendship between women who share their stories with each other and who lift each other up and understand one another."

The single's official video was directed by Chuck David Willis and we see Hayley and Joy have fun whilst harmonising in the studio. In order to let the song work its magic, it's been filmed completely in black and white.

'Hate To See You Heart Break' featuring Joy Williams is available here on iTunes as part of Paramore's deluxe re-release of their self-titled album. The revised album also includes new live tracks and previously unheard demos.

What do you think of Paramore and Joy's new duet?
