Nicole Scherzinger Unveils Music Video For New Single ‘On The Rocks’
We posted a teaser yesterday but Nicole Scherzinger has now released the full music video for her schamazing new single 'On The Rocks'!
The stripped back video is over four minutes long and it's been filmed completely in black and white. We're used to energetic dancing from Nicole but the new video shows a more vulnerable side to the beautiful songstress.In the 'On The Rocks' video, we see Nicole deal with the break-up of a relationship by: feeling sorry for herself in bed, drinking alcohol and destroying her apartment. She then however realises that heartbreak isn't the way forward and ventures outside to prove that she's not going to let it get her down. Way to go Nicole!
Speaking about the video to BBC Radio One, the 36 year old singer said: “It’s my favourite video I’ve ever done. It’s black and white, it’s very cinematic. I just wanted the video to not feel like a music video, just really authentic and really raw. It’s very empowering. It’s a very emotional and personal song for me.”
The emotional video accompanies an emotional song which was written about a real-life experience. Nicole explained: “This song is really personal to me. I love it. It’s a break up song. I want the girls and all the people out there who’s ever had a hard time in a relationship to put this song on repeat and feel really empowered.”
We love the song here at OnePopz but we would change one thing about it if we could; the autotune. Nicole has proven many times that she has an incredible voice so we're not sure why her vocals have been made so electronic; especially during the bridge of the track. We'd much prefer the song if it wasn't so overproduced.
'On The Rocks' will be released next month on the 12th October and it follows 'Your Love' which peaked at number two in the UK charts. Nicole's second solo album is also expected for release later this year.
