Charli XCX Crashes School Prom In New ‘Break The Rules’ Music Video

Charli XCX has released the music video for her awesome new single 'Break The Rules' and she's once again playing a rebellious school girl!

The singer-songwriter from London previously donned her school uniform in the 'Clueless' themed music video for Iggy Azalea's worldwide smash hit 'Fancy' but this time; she's showing it off for her very own track.

Relating to the catchy lyrics 'I don't wanna go to school, I just wanna break the rules', the music video sees Charli and her friends carry out various acts of rebellion. We see the 22 year old: skip school, go shopping for new clothes and crash a school prom. With school starting again next month, this could be a sure fire hit.

The music video for the track also stars actress Rose McGowan and it seriously makes us want to rock out on the top of a bus; something we can honestly say we've never thought about doing before. It looks like so much fun.

Speaking to Billboard, Charli explained the main concept behind her brand new video: "I was inspired by movies like Jawbreaker and Carrie for the 'Break The Rules' video. I never went to prom when I was at school so this was kind of me living out my weird fantasy of what prom would be like in my head. I asked Rose McGowan to be in the video and I never ever thought she would say yes, but she did. And she trashed it."

Here at OnePopz, a highlight from the music video has to be when Charli and her friends get covered in paint at the prom. That scene totally reminded us of 'Carrie' which just so happens to be one of time favourite films.

'Break The Rules' will be released on the 5th October; with Charli's new album 'Sucker' following two weeks later on the 21st October. That's definitely going to be a good month for music; we can't wait to buy them both.
