Avril Lavigne And Chad Kroeger Unveil ‘Let Me Go’ Music Video
Canadian rockers Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger tied the knot earlier this year and they’ve now teamed up for Avril’s latest single ‘Let Me Go!’
The pair, nicknamed ‘Chavril’ by fans, seem closer than ever in the new music video for the track which sees Avril ditch her trademark skulls and converse for a more elegant look.In the haunting video, Avril plays a ghost who roams a gothic mansion and keeps in contact with an older version of Chad through a magical mirror. Their time is only limited though and as the hourglass starts to run low, Chad breaks it in order to be briefly reunited with the love of his life.
This is when we see ‘Chavril’ at their best and it’s genuinely heart-breaking when they eventually have to ‘let it go.’ It’s quite a hard concept to get your head around at first but once understood, the video really does shine and it’s one that we certainly won’t be forgetting anytime soon!
So what’s the song all about? Avril has revealed it’s all about the ‘journey of love’ and being able to find happiness again after moving on from previous relationships.
The pop-punk princess is clearly referencing her past relationships with Deryck Whibley and Brody Jenner when she sings the line ‘and two goodbyes led to this new life.’
Avril begins the song off and Chad follows with his very own verse. The newlywed couple then sing together and let their harmonies tell the story for the last verse.
It’s a beautiful song with a beautiful music video and we’d say it has familiar vibes to Avril’s previous singles: ‘When You’re Gone’ and ‘Wish You Were Here.’
‘Let Me Go’ is currently available for download in most countries but we’ll have to wait a while longer to be able to purchase it here in the UK.
The song will also feature on Avril’s forthcoming self-titled album which will hit shelves on the 4th November.
Her lead single from the collection ‘Here’s To Never Growing Up’ will also be on the album alongside its second single ‘Rock N Roll’ which will be released in the UK next week.
