Avril Lavigne Joins Instagram To Reveal New Album Artwork

Hey hey you you! Guess who's the latest celebrity to join Instagram? That's right, it's the one and only Avril Lavigne!

Despite only joining the photo-sharing social network less than 24 hours ago, she's already managed to gain an impressive 200,000 followers. The first photo the 28 year-old singer treated her 'little black stars' to was the artwork for her forthcoming self-titled album. What a way to introduce yourself to Instagram.

Avril rocks her trademark heavy mascara look on the cover and it’s received a mixed reaction online. We can't decide what we think of it - the photo's definitely striking but that's better than boring right? It'll probably grow on people given time.

The pop punk princess recently made a comeback with her single 'Here's to Never Growing Up'. It charted at number 14 in the UK and went platinum in both America and Australia. We reckon the track could have done even better though and maybe even made it to number one if it had been given more promotion.

How many of you actually heard ‘Here’s To Never Growing Up’ on the radio? It didn't get much airplay in the UK and she only made two TV appearances here to promote its release. We understand Avril is super busy though.

Whilst 'Here's to Never Growing Up' had a vibe quite similar to 'Complicated' about it, Avril's new single 'Rock N Roll' definitely sounds more like a mixture of her hits 'Sk8er Boi' and 'Girlfriend'. It’s a winning combination. The official audio for the track was posted on Youtube three weeks ago and we can expect to see the music video sometime soon.

Some snaps from the ’Rock N Roll’ video shoot have already appeared online and they show Avril dressed as an army girl fighting what we can only describe as a 'bear shark'. It looks like it’s going to be one of the skater girl’s craziest videos yet!

‘Rock N Roll’ was originally set for release in America last month but Epic Records decided to delay the release until later this month to coincide with the music video. There’s no word yet about when we’ll be able to download it here in the UK.

Avril's self-titled album will hit the shelves on the 24th September and it will feature a duet with her husband Chad Kroeger. Marilyn Manson will also star on a track titled 'Bad Girl'. If Avril’s previous albums are anything to go by, we’re sure we'll love it!
