LISTEN: Fall Out Boy Unveil And Release Epic New Single ‘Centuries’

Fall Out Boy have premiered their brand new single 'Centuries' and it's all kinds of amazing; we love the song's anthemic lyrics and epic sound!

The band, who famously helped 'Save Rock And Roll' last year, debuted the track on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show last night and the world has gone crazy for it. It's already rocketed up to number 2 in the US iTunes charts.

In the song, lead singer Patrick Stump sings about wanting to be remembered in history and we'll be honest; we don't think Fall Out Boy have anything to worry about. They already have an amazing discography of songs and it sounds like they're going to add another set of gems to that list with their new record when it's released.

The rock group explained how 'Centuries' came about: "We never had a plan to jump right back into it after the whirlwind year we’ve had… but sometimes the song calls you. We started writing 'Centuries' while we were on tour because we felt the calling. It is us passing along the story of how we feel right before we step on stage."

Quite randomly, 'Centuries' samples Susanne Vega's catchy hit 'Tom's Diner' which is something we definitely didn't expect. On paper, it doesn't sound like it'd work but it actually does; the rocked up chants fit perfectly.

The official music video for the song should be hitting the web over the next few weeks but for now, fans can enjoy a Hyperlapse video which explores the city of Chicago. It's pretty cool if we do say so ourselves.

'Centuries' is available for download here now and it serves as the lead single from Fall Out Boy's currently untitled sixth studio album. The collection is set to be released early next year and we can't wait to grab a copy.

Will you remember Fall Out Boy's new single for centuries?
