Maroon 5 Enter UK Singles Chart With New Album Track ‘It Was Always You’

Maroon 5's new album 'V' isn't even out yet but 'It Was Always You', a track from the record, has already entered the UK singles chart!

'It Was Always You' is an amazing electro pop love song that's rumoured to have been written about lead singer Adam Levine’s new wife Behati Prinsloo. Isn't that just the sweetest thing? She's a very lucky girl.

The promotional track has received great reviews from critics and it's currently available for purchase on iTunes. You can also get the track on there as an instant download if you pre-order Maroon 5's new album.

They may have a song titled 'Misery' but we're sure the band are feeling anything but sorrow right now. Last night, 'It Was Always You' peaked at number 40 in the UK which is pretty impressive considering it's not actually a single. The song has also charted in many other countries and it's currently number two in South Korea.

What can we expect from their new album 'V' though? Adam Levine explained to BBC News how the record is different to their previous collection: "On 'Overexposed', there was a very conscious effort to have as many hits as we possibly could. It was very gluttonous in that way. The band had this new-found success from The Voice and then 'Moves Like Jagger' and we were very excited because we hadn't had hits for a while."

"We were very hit-drunk. On this record, we've balanced those things (by) adding a bit more thought into what would make a great album - instead of being just a collection of pop hits."

'Maps', the lead single from Maroon 5's forthcoming album, will be released in the UK on the 24th August. On that same day, Adam and the band will also perform at the VMA Awards for the very first time in their career.

Maroon 5's fifth album 'V' will be released in the UK on the 1st September. As well as featuring 'Maps' and 'It Was Always You', the record will also include a collaboration with Gwen Stefani. We can't wait to hear it!
