REVIEW: Miley Cyrus Twerks In The UK For Her Incredible Bangerz Tour

Miley Cyrus is touring the world and last week, we went to see the queen of twerking rock the stage in Manchester!

The Bangerz tour hit Manchester's Phones 4u Arena on the 14th May and it's definitely a gig that we won't be forgetting any time soon; for all the right reasons. Miley certainly came in like a wrecking ball.

Putting her Disney image behind her, the concert celebrated everything that we've learnt about the 'new Miley' over the past year. From licking as many things as possible with her tongue to crotch-grabbing at every possible moment, Miley showed that negative media reports aren't going to stop her doing her 'thang!'

We can understand why age restrictions were applied at certain venues though; it's safe to say that we've never been to a gig as 'sexual' as the Banger tour before and it's probably not appropriate for children to see certain parts of show. It'd definitely have been an awkward concert to go to with your parents.

Miley entered the stage by sliding down a massive replica of her tongue which we've got to say was pretty hilarious. The two-hour show kicked off with the opening track 'SMS (Bangerz)' and it was followed by '4x4' which is one of our personal favourites from the album here at OnePopz.

It wasn't just the live performances that we loved either; the sets and costumes were super impressive!

Props included: flying hot dogs, massive flamingos, awesome cars and a huge Big Sean puppet. You really can't make this stuff up; who else could have had these things on stage other than Miley?

One thing really special about Miley's show in Manchester was the fact that we all got to see an exclusive performance. The 'Wrecking Ball' singer performed a cover of 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds' by The Beatles for the Billboard Awards. Because of her tour commitments, Miley couldn't make the ceremony in America so they came over here instead. It's pretty fitting that Miley covered one of England's most famous bands whilst she was in England herself; we love that.

In order to make sure the Billboard performance was perfect though; Miley performed the track three times which was pretty repetitive and did mean that the second half of the set seemed slightly rushed. That's the only negative thing that we could say about getting to see the exclusive performance though.

Most of the tour's set list consisted of new 'Bangerz' tracks but we'd have loved to see Miley perform some of her older tracks such as 'The Climb' too. Our favourite album by the 21 year-old is 'Can't Be Tamed' but unfortunately, she only performed the title track from the record. We can understand that Miley may not feel like the same person she did when she wrote those songs but performing them would have been amazing.

Following performances of the smash-hit singles 'We Can't Stop' and 'Wrecking Ball', Miley closed the show with an encore performance of 'Party in the USA'. It was a special moment that definitely left us and everyone else with smiles on our faces whilst leaving the arena.

All in all, the Bangerz tour was pretty perfect and we'd give it four out of five stars. The inclusion of older singles would have made it five stars but even without them; Miley's vocals and visuals impressed us!

The Bangerz tour will be hosted at the 02 Arena in Dublin tonight before heading to many other places later in the year including: France, Germany, Italy, Spain and North America.
