OnePopz’s Top 10 Kelly Clarkson Singles – Which Do We Love Most?

We love Kelly Clarkson and it seems it's not just us either; her singles have topped charts all over the world!

Earlier this week, we posted the news here that Kelly is working on a new dance track. It'll be a new direction for her and as a result; we've decided to take a look back at our favourite Kelly Clarkson singles.

She won American Idol over 10 years ago and since then; Kelly has gone from strength to strength.
Her first album was quite soulful but following that; it's all been very pop/rock which we love!

We start off our list of amazing tracks with...

10) Catch My Breath

We're sure some of you will be familiar with 'Catch My Breath'!

The song was the lead single from Kelly's first greatest hits collection last year. It made it to number 19 in the Billboard charts and the lyrics describe her amazing journey since rising to fame back in 2002.

Whilst the music video for the track is quite simple; it is also super effective. Splashes of water, flames of fire and tons of smoke surround Kelly whilst she belts out the killer track!

9) I Do Not Hook Up

'I Do Not Hook Up' has got to be one of Kelly's most underrated singles to date!

Despite making it to number 20 in the Billboard charts and number 36 in the UK, the singer-songwriter rarely sings live it when she tours. We're not sure why though because it's definitely one of our favourites.

The music video for the track is really fun which reflects the nature of the song. It's super upbeat and we guarantee that you'll want to get up and start dancing after hearing it!

8) Breakaway

'Breakaway' was the the title track and first single to be released from Kelly's second album!

Believe it or not, the song was actually written by Avril Lavigne who originally wrote it for her debut album. She decided not release it though and instead; gave it to Kelly to record. We'd love to hear Avril's version.

The track featured as part of the soundtrack for the movie ‘The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement’. It was released in 2004 and peaked at number six in the Billboard charts.

7) Don’t You Wanna Stay (ft. Jason Aldean)

'Don't You Wanna Stay' doesn't have an official music video but it's too good to not include on our list!

Due to it's country sound, the track was only released as a single in certain countries. It's a collaboration with Jason Aldean and the track has gone two times platinum in the United States of America.

It also features on Kelly's studio album 'Stronger' and we hope that there'll be more songs like this released in the future. Kelly and Jason's voices sound perfect together; it's a great duet!

6) People Like Us

We love 'People Like Us' because it's a great track with a great message!

It was the second single to be released from Kelly's greatest hits collection and the track is all about equality. The beat is super punchy and the beginning reminds us slightly of 'Born This Way' by Lady Gaga.

Like the song's lyrics, the music video for 'People Like Us' is also quite inspirational. The video shows people that it's their differences that make the world colourful and you can check it out below!

5) Behind These Hazel Eyes

As well as being one of our favourite singles, 'Behind These Hazel Eyes' is also one of Kelly's favourites!

The song is a pop rock anthem which is all about Kelly's relationship with one of her ex-boyfriends. It was the third single to be released from 'Breakaway' and it peaked at number six in the Billboard chart.

It's not just the song that's incredible either; the music video for 'Behind These Hazel Eyes' is impressive. It sees Kelly in a wedding dress getting ready for her big day but not everything goes to plan!

4) Never Again

Out of all of Kelly's singles, 'Never Again' is probably the most underrated!

It's heavier than most of her other songs and due to its rockier sound; it didn't get much support from radio stations. We love it though and the track was the lead single from Kelly's third album 'My December'.

In the music video for 'Never Again', we see Kelly haunt an ex-boyfriend who tried to kill her by drowning her in a bathtub. It's visually stunning and almost like a mini-movie in its own way!

3) My Life Would Suck Without You

We reckon our lives would suck without Kelly Clarkson and her music!

'My Life Would Suck Without You' was Kelly's comeback single in 2009 and it was the lead single from her fourth album 'All I Ever Wanted'. It's a perfect summer tune which topped charts in many different countries.

The song is one of Kelly's most successful singles to date and in the playful music video; we see the ups and downs of a relationship. We're sure most of you will have seen it before but why not watch it again below?

2) Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)

What doesn't kill Kelly Clarkson only makes her stronger!

'Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)' is the title track from Kelly's fifth studio album and the second single to be released from it. It made it to number one in: America, Belgium, Denmark, Poland and Slovakia.

We love the song; it's really catchy and has a great message. For the music video, Kelly asked fans to take part in her global flash mob. Fans recorded themselves dancing and some actually featured in the video!

1) Because Of You

'Because Of You' takes the top spot on our list of favourite Kelly Clarkson singles!

It's a stunning ballad which never fails to give us goosebumps; especially when sung live. The track really hits the heart and it's all about the emotions Kelly felt when her parents got divorced.

Despite being the fourth single from her second album, 'Because Of You' went platinum and gold in many countries. Later singles from albums don't usually chart so high but this song proved the trend wrong.

The music video for the single was named the 'Best Female Video' at 2006's MTV Video Music Awards. You can check it out below but be warned; you might need some tissues at the ready!

Some of you may be wondering where fan favourite 'Since U Been Gone' was on our list. We realise that we've missed it out and that's because as much as we love it; we do think it's slightly overrated.

We would have also included ‘Underneath The Tree’ on the list as it's one of our favourite Christmas songs ever but unfortunately, it’s not really the time of the year to be listening to that!

Kelly Clarkson got married to her husband Brandon Blackstock last year and they're both expecting the birth of their first baby girl very soon. We send big congratulations to both of them.

Her sixth album is due to be released later this year and we can't wait to hear it!
