One Direction Top This Year’s ‘Influential UK Twitter Users’ Chart

If you’re visiting this website and have a Twitter account then we’re guessing you probably follow all of One Direction on there?

We thought so! Millions of us keep up to date with what the boys are doing on the social network site and because of this, we’ve helped them top yet another chart.

The band’s individual accounts have taken the top five places in this year’s chart of top Twitter users in the UK. They’ve beaten the likes of Olly Murs and even Alan Sugar. Impressive right?

It’s a list compiled by PeerIndex and it’s based on influence rather than amount of followers. This means that our boys can encourage us to check out things a lot easier than other people can.

Harry, Liam, Louis and Niall were all given an influence score of 98% whereas Zayn’s influence score was slightly lower at 97%. That’ll be because he doesn’t tweet as much as the other boys.

Get using Twitter more Zayn! We love your tweets but we just wish you tweeted more!

Ed Sheeran, David Cameron, Piers Morgan, Caitlin Moran and Ricky Gervais complete the chart’s top ten which lists a total of 140 Twitter users from the United Kingdom.

Yeah, believe it or not, you read that right. Our boys have actually been named more influential on Twitter than David Cameron; Britain’s very own prime minister.

We’re sure David Cameron won’t mind though as he’s a bit of a directioner himself!

He appeared in the music video for ‘One Way or Another (Teenage Kicks)’ remember?

Well done boys on another amazing achievement!
