Christina Perri Releases Music Video For New Single ‘Burning Gold’
Christina Perri has released the official music video for 'Burning Gold', the second single from her second album, and it's pure pop perfection!
The 27 year old singer-songwriter is probably best known for her beautiful ballads (who can forget 'Jar of Hearts' or 'A Thousand Years'?) but her new track is much more uptempo. 'Burning Gold' has an infectious chorus that you'll be singing along to for days and we can't help but love the song's inspirational lyrics too.In the music video, we see Christina at work in a restaurant and she's clearly had enough. She makes a stand and proves that she's ready to make a change to both her career and love life. After grabbing a microphone and getting up for a sing-song, she attracts the attention of a musician who helps her become famous.
Christina rocks the stage as a showgirl, similar to those seen in 'Dreamgirls', and then sets a car on fire. Why does the vehicle go up in flames though? You'll have to watch the video to find out; we don't want to spoil it.
Earlier this year, Christina told Radio.com that 'Burning Gold' was about her choice to move away from home. She explained: “I don’t know where you get that courage. It’s something that has to happen inside of you. I was 20-years-old and it was the week before my 21st birthday and my brother said, ‘Move to California,’ and I said, ‘OK,'. A lot of times our dreams aren’t where we grew up. We have to go find them… I would not stop until my life was burning gold, which I think it is now.”
'Burning Gold' is available for download now and it follows 'Human' as the second single from 'Head or Heart'; Christina's latest album.
