The Wanted's Tom Parker Teams Up With N-Dubz's Richard Rawson For New Single 'Fireflies'

What do you get when Tom Parker and Richard Rawson collaborate? Pop perfection of course; the pair have teamed up for an amazing new single!

'Fireflies' is Tom's first music release since splitting from The Wanted earlier this year and it's also Richard's first song under his new name. The N-Dubz member used to be known by the name of Fazer but he's since fazed that out (see what we did there?) and decided to use his name of birth, Richard Rawson, instead.

We love the single here at OnePopz and reckon it's a great mixture of pop and rap. In ways, it's quite similar to 'Airplanes' by B.o.B and Hayley Williams which charted at number one in the UK singles chart in 2010.

It's probably just a coincidence but we find it funny that airplanes and fireflies are both things that fly too.

Speaking to the Metro about the duet, Tom said: "I’ve worked with Richard on a few writing sessions in the past, so when he asked me to collaborate on a track there wasn’t any doubt that I wanted to do it. I’m really proud of it and it’s just one of a few projects I’m working on at the moment."

The music video for 'Fireflies' was released today and it's pretty damn cool. Warm yellow lighting is used for Tom's scenes whilst Richard is surrounded by refreshing blue beams; the contrast is really effective.

'Fireflies' will be released on 27th July and it's the lead-single from Richard's forthcoming debut solo album. It's not yet known whether Tom will be releasing an album but we sure hope he will be doing!
