LISTEN: Maroon 5 Premiere Amazing New Summer Single ‘Maps’
Get ready to get your summer groove on, Maroon 5 have just dropped their new single 'Maps' and it's bound to be another big hit for the boys!
We reckon 'Maps' is a perfect mixture of the classic Maroon 5 sound that everyone seems to miss and the more commercially friendly sound that was heard on their most recent album 'Overexposed'.Adam Levine's vocals sound as gorgeous as ever and he hits those high notes like only he can. The track is proving really popular online and it's already entered the top ten of the iTunes chart; well done guys!
Speaking to Ryan Seacrest, Maroon 5 frontman Adam explained the meaning of the song; “It's complicated. People go through a lot of things and get stepped on and step on others and we all make mistakes… it’s kind of about not giving up on something, even though maybe you should.”
Lead singles are always something that Maroon 5 seem to master so there's a lot of pressure to live up to the success of: 'This Love', 'Makes Me Wonder', 'Misery' and 'Payphone'. We're sure 'Maps' will manage it though.
The single is now available on iTunes in most countries and while Maroon 5 can't wait for more people to hear 'Maps', the 'Moves Like Jagger' band are more excited for fans to listen to the rest of their new record.
Adam told Ryan Seacrest; “Here’s the deal, I’m so excited about this album. Mostly because I think that what we always do with every record… it’s kind of everything we’ve ever done as a band musically."
"It’s all of those things on this album. It’s what we used to sound like, it’s what we sound like now, it’s what we want to sound like tomorrow. It’s all those elements all combined to make one, I think, really great album.”
Maroon 5's fifth album 'V' will be released on the 1st September and it will feature a collaboration with Gwen Stefani. We can't wait to hear it and if their past four albums are anything to go by, we're sure it'll be great!
