Doctor Who Series 8 Premiere Date Confirmed In Brand New Teaser Trailer

As massive Whovians, we're excited to let you know that Doctor Who will rematerialise onto our TV screens for its eighth series in August!

It's been confirmed by the BBC that the hit sci-fi show will be back on the 23rd August. That's not too long to wait thankfully but we still wish that we had a TARDIS so we could watch the new episodes right now.

The season opener is titled 'Deep Breath' and it will be Peter Capaldi's first full adventure as The Doctor. We can't wait to see what Peter's portrayal of our favourite Time Lord will be like; we're sure he'll be great.

Jenna Coleman will also reprise her role as Clara Oswald and the series will feature guest appearances from: Foxes, Frank Skinner, Keeley Hawes, Hermione Norris, Samuel Anderson and Ellis George.

Showrunner Steven Moffat sure knows how to tease us; so much in fact that he's already began talking about the programme's ninth season. Speaking in the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine, he said;

“Sitting here, right now, just before the (series eight) finale shooting block, I’ve figured out the cliffhanger to the penultimate episode of the next series, and it’s a whopper. Ohh, I don’t think you’ll see this coming!”

This is too much for our human brains to take in right now; we can only imagine this is how poor Donna Noble felt when she had the horrific human/time lord meta-crisis in the finale of Doctor Who series four.

Don't worry if that wasn't enough to make you as excited as The Doctor gets about bow ties though. The BBC have also treated us to an awesome new trailer which you can check out in its entirety below.
