Hermione Norris Joins The Cast Of Doctor Who For Series 8 Of The Show

Hermione Norris is the latest actress to jump aboard the TARDIS as it's been confirmed that she'll be starring in the eighth series of Doctor Who!

She's not the only former Spooks actress to have been cast in the popular sci-fi show's eighth season either, the BBC also recently revealed that Keeley Hawes will be playing villain Ms Delphox in an episode.

Hermione will come face to face with Peter Capaldi's new incarnation of The Doctor later this year. Speaking about her casting, she said: "It’s exciting to be part of such an iconic show, and one that my kids can watch!!!"

With a while to wait until Doctor Who is actually back on our screens, most information about the plot is being kept well under wraps and it's no surprise really. As River Song would say; spoilers!

A few details have been confirmed though. Hermione's episode of Doctor Who has been filmed in Lanzarote and it will also guest star: Ellis George, Tony Osoba and Phil Nice.

Showrunner Steven Moffat said; "It's a testament to the quality of Peter Harness's intense and emotional script, that we've been able to attract an actress of the brilliance of Hermione Norris"

"And for the first time since 1984, the Doctor Who production team is heading to Lanzarote. The Doctor is returning to the scene of an old adventure - but there have been sinister changes since his last visit."

The last Doctor Who adventure set in Lazarote was 'Planet Of Fire' which saw Peter Davison's 5th Doctor go head to head with The Master. We'll have to wait and see if The Master is back to cause his usual mischief.

Doctor Who will return to our screens this Autumn for a consecutive run of 13 episodes; we can't wait!
