Foxes Set To Make Her Acting Debut In Series 8 Of Doctor Who
There's certainly no stopping Foxes; her debut album charted at number 5 in the UK earlier this month and she's now set to star in Doctor Who!
After releasing amazing pop tracks such as 'Youth' and 'Let Go For Tonight', the singer-songwriter is now fancying her chances as an actress. Foxes will appear in an episode of Doctor Who's forthcoming eighth series alongside Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman. She explained how the role came about:"I was playing a gig and got chatting to the show's production team who'd been watching my performance. I was telling them how much I loved Doctor Who and next thing they invited me to be on it. I can't believe I'm actually going to be in an episode of Doctor Who. I couldn't think of a better place to make my acting debut than on one of the UK's most iconic shows!"
We're sure she's going to be great on the show and it's exciting that she'll be singing in the episode too!
Foxes won't be the first singer to make an appearance on the show either. Billie Piper was of course cast as main character Rose Tyler when the show was revived back in 2005 and the programme has also featured guest appearances from; Kylie Minogue, Katherine Jenkins, Mike Skinner and McFly.
Speaking about Foxes' casting, Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat said: "We are completely thrilled that the amazingly talented Foxes is joining us on board... well, you'll see. Let's just say, the Doctor is finally catching up on his phone calls."
Doctor Who will return to our screens this Autumn and you can view the very first teaser trailer for it here along with the interesting news that the BBC nearly cancelled the programme after David Tennant left.
