OnePopz’s Top 10 Favourite Charity Records – Which Songs Did We Have On Repeat?

We love a good charity record here at OnePopz, you can't beat great songs which also help out a great cause!

Just yesterday, we posted Little Mix's music video for their new charity single 'Word Up!' and now we've decided to compile a list of our top 10 favourite charity songs ever.

There's some amazing charity ballads and some fantastic upbeat charity song too!

We start our list with...

10. 'Just Can't Get Enough' - The Saturdays

The Saturdays kick off our list of top 10 favourite charity records!

Una, Mollie, Rochelle, Frankie and Vanessa all recorded a cover of Depeche Mode's 'Just Can't Get Enough' in 2009. It was Comic Relief's official charity single that year and the track peaked at number 2 in the UK charts.

We love their version of the track, it's super upbeat and the video's lots of fun too!

All proceeds from the track went to Comic Relief who help out poor and disadvantaged people whilst also preventing some of the roots of poverty. You help Comic Relief by donating money to them here.

9. 'All About You' - McFly

The cheeky McFly boys come in at number nine!

For Comic Relief in 2005, the band released a a double 'A-Side' single featuring two new tracks: 'All About You' and 'You've Got A Friend'. As much as we love the latter, we definitely prefer 'All About You'.

It's one of those songs that you really can't help but sing along to when it comes on!

The single charted at number one in the UK and it helped raise lots of money for Comic Relief. You can find out more about Comic Relief, including how you can help and donate to the charity, here.

8. 'Something New' - Girls Aloud

Two years ago, Girls Aloud bounced back with their comeback single 'Something New'!

The dance track soon became a club hit and it was 2012's official Children in Need single. It charted at number 2 in the UK and managed to sell an impressive 70,000 copies in its first week.

We can't help but get up and have a dance when we hear the song!

All profits from 'Something New' were donated to Children in Need. Children in Need helps improve the lives of disadvantaged and disabled youths in the UK and you can find out more about the BBC charity here.

7. 'Footprints In The Sand' - Leona Lewis

X Factor winner Leona Lewis is seventh in our list!

In 2008, she released 'Footprints In The Sand' as the year's official Sport Relief single. It peaked at number 25 in the UK but we think it deserved to do so much better, especially as it's for such a good cause.

'Footprints in the Sand' has got to be one of our favourite ballads ever! It's such a beautiful song.

Sport Relief help vulnerable people in both the UK and third world countries. The charity was set up in 2002 and you can find out more information here on its official website.

6. 'Hero' - The X Factor Finalists 2008

The twelve finalists from 2008's season of The X Factor make it to sixth place in our list!

They all came together to a record a cover of Mariah Carey's 'Hero' to help raise money for Help For Heroes. Their rendition made it to number one and it stayed there at the top of the charts for several weeks.

There's been many X Factor charity singles since this one but this is still our favourite!

Help For Heroes provides improved facilities for British servicemen and women who've been injured and wounded. You can get involved and read all about the charity here.

5. 'Gold Forever' - The Wanted

The 'bad boys of pop' aren't so bad at all and come fifth in our list!

Tom, Nathan, Siva, Jay and Max all recorded an original track 'Gold Forever' for Comic Relief. The song was the charity's official single in 2011 and it peaked at number three in the UK single charts.

We love The Wanted and the 'Gold Forever' music video never fails to put a smile on our face!

This is the third Comic Relief single in our list so far so make sure you've checked out the charity's official website here. Any money donated really does go to such a good cause.

4. 'Love You More' - JLS

We don't think we could love JLS much more than we actually do, they make it to number four!

JLS have released a few charity singles but 'Love You More' is easily our favourite. It was released in 2010 as the year's official Children in Need single and it charted at number one in the UK singles charts.

It's an amazing ballad which you'll have stuck in your head for days after listening to it!

Children in Need helps youths in the UK who's lives are disadvantaged in one way or another. All profits from 'Love You More' were donated to the charity and you can read all about the organisation here.

3. 'Knockin' On Heavens Door' - Avril Lavigne

Pop punk princess Avril Lavigne skates in to number three on our list!

The Canadian singer recorded a cover of Bob Dylan's legendary song 'Knockin' on Heaven's Door' to help raise money for War Child. It was included on one of their charity albums 'Hope' which was released in 2003.

We love Avril and the emotion in her voice during this song always gives us goosebumps!

All profits from the song went to War Child, a charity aiming to change the world and stop war. They want to improve the lives of millions and you can find more information about the organisation here.

2. 'Word Up!' - Little Mix

The Little Mix girls just miss out on the top spot!

Perrie, Jade, Jesy and Leigh-Anne's latest track is a cover of Cameo's 1968 hit 'Word Up!' and it's this year's official Sport Relief single. It's the latest charity single we've heard and it will be released on the 16th March.

We love their version of the song and the music video is pretty funny too!

All proceeds from Little Mix's cover of 'Word Up!' will go to Sport Relief. Sport Relief help disadvantaged people in the UK and other countries too. You can find more information about the charity here.

1. 'One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks)' - One Direction

The biggest boy band in the world are number one in our list. That's right, it's One Direction!

The boys recorded a mash-up of Blondie's 'One Way or Another' and 'Teenage Kicks' by The Undertones for Comic Relief. It was the charity's official 2013 single and charted at number one in the UK singles chart.

It's so catchy and the boys are as hot as ever in the music video!

Instead of paying to produce an expensive music video, One Direction recorded their own and donated the money they saved to Comic Relief. All profits from the single also went to the charity.

You can find out more about Comic Relief here.
