Samuel Anderson Joins Doctor Who As New Series 8 Companion Danny Pink
It's been revealed that Samuel Anderson will joining The Doctor and Clara in the Tardis for Doctor Who's 8th series!
The former Emmerdale actor has been cast as Danny Pink, one of The Doctor's new companions. We wish he had a TARDIS so we could travel into the future and see what his character will be like but unfortunately we don't so we'll just have to do it the normal way and wait!
As well as starring in Emmerdale, Samuel has also previously appeared in: 'The History Boys', 'Casualty', 'Gavin & Stacey', 'Doctors', 'Midsomer Murders' and 'Death in Paradise'.
He explained that he's 'so excited to join Doctor Who' and continued: "It’s a quintessential part of British culture and I can’t believe I’m part of it. It’s an honour to be able to work alongside Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman and I can’t wait to show people how my character becomes involved with such a fantastic duo!"
We don't know much about Sam's character Danny Pink at the moment but Doctor Who's showrunner Steven Moffat did reveal that Danny will be a member of staff at Coal Hill School.
Clara, The Doctor's current companion, works at that school when she's not busy saving the world so that might explain how Danny gets involved in the exciting and extraterrestrial adventures of the Whoniverse.
Doctor Who series 8 will hit our screens this year and it will be Peter Capaldi's first season as The Doctor.
